What's New?
The 2023 Volvo XC40 sees a host of tweaks and changes, with the largest change probably being the introduction of the all-electric XC40 Recharge model option. Otherwise. Changes that come to the 2023 Volvo XC40 are mostly minor, with small feature additions to various trim levels. Notable changes include the addition of standard driver assistance features, including active blind-spot monitoring with cross-traffic alert, automatic high beams, and Connected Safety. Other additions include two rear-seat USB-C ports, leather-trimmed seats and rear parking sensors for the base trim, and a programmable care key.
Performance
The new Volvo xC40 offers up two gas engines and a single pure-electric engine. The base T4 engine is a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 that makes 194 horsepower and 221 pound-feet of torque. City of Industry drivers can also opt for the T5 engine, which makes 247 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The XC40 Recharge features front and rear electric motors that combine to create 402 horsepower and 486 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard while all-wheel drive is an optional upgrade.
Technology
The new Volvo XC40 offers California drivers an ample array of tech features to utilize. The base trim of the Volvo XC40 includes a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Apple CarPlay/ Android Auto, Bluetooth connectivity, and an 8-speaker audio system. Notable available tech features include a Harman Kardon premium audio system, a 360-degree camera system, and wireless charging.
